Hammerhead Harvey – Update

Just wanted to share a few more photos with y’all. We are hoping to hear from an insurance adjuster today to arrange a meeting time on Thursday or Friday.

Hammerhead Harvey

So much destruction, devastation, and despair. Luckily we were intelligent enough to get the heck out of there before it made landfall. I’m certainly glad we didn’t stay there in our RV; as it is now laying on its side. Could you imagine laying in bed as it went over? Boy Howdy… that would not be my idea of anything close to fun.

I happened across a YouTube video (Talk about finding a needle in a haystack) that gave us the indication of our trailers current status. Our RV park is at a 100% loss. It’s been featured on numerous news outlets as well as other digital media sites. What an absolute bummer; to be sure. I can only hope that all of those involved in this enormous mess find moments of peace and comfort in such the tragedy.

Red arrows outlining our RV on its side. There’s even one completely upside down among this mess 😦

Below is the YT Video from which I captured the screenshot above. Our park is featured from 2:25 to 2:38 –

We are currently safe (not so sure about sound) in Kerrville, Texas 😉

What A Bunch Of Wussies

Those who hide their hideous hate-filled faces behind masks speaks in shameful volumes. What do these piss-poor examples of human beings have to hide? These sick folk are truly wishing for and welcoming a Civil War to be sure. Brainwashed jelly-brains will do anything; I suppose. I could only hope that they’d be a little more mindful of their grotesque intentions. Which leads me to wishing in one hand and shitting in the other. The end result seems to be that one of my hands is getting full of stank rather quickly. So much for wishful thinking.

And just for the record, my thoughts are completely based on utter disgust rather than anything to do with hatred. Hatred is far too easy and rather boring to me.

Coastal Oak Shrooms

A Coastal Oak Tree next to our neighbors RV pad had to be removed most recently. You could tell that it wasn’t doing so well just by looking at it. It was basically hollow from its base up to about five feet. It also had a very large colony of fire ants within it. Ouch! What caught my interest in this particular tree was the fact that it was still thriving above all of its rot and infestations. But alas… The management said the tree had to go because it could fall down and cause property damage and/or personal injury. I ultimately didn’t favor this tree being terminated, but I’m not the one who owns this place or the liabilities thereof. Bye-bye mighty Coastal Oak. It’s been nice knowing you for this short period of time.

On the brighter side of things… I am very grateful that this mighty tree left me with a few memories before its demise. One example of a lasting memory (-pictures or it didn’t happen-) are the smallest mushrooms I have ever seen growing on a tree, or anywhere else for that matter. I tried using the search engines to find out what kind of shrooms these were, but I didn’t have any luck. I know — I’ll name them Mini-Me-shrooms 🙂

Another memory from this tree: Previously to the above photos, there was one I snapped of what I think is a Chicken Of The Forest (Laetiporus sulphureus), growing between the bottom branches.

However,  I’m not entirely sure. Which brings me to my next point… Many mushrooms are poisonous and some are deadly poisonous. If you’re not sure what you’re messing with, maybe it’s best not to mess with it at all. Don’t you agree? I agree with myself. Does that count?

Have a good’n y’all 😉

Laughing Gull Chicks

I was at the beach capturing some images of Laughing Gull (Leucophaeus atricilla) chicks on Thursday morning. I get a text around 10:24 AM from Silke asking me if we had lost power here. I text her back… “I dunt know at beach 2 take pics of chicks.” After what I thought was my reply, I started thinking… Um… That didn’t sound too good. Oh well. She should know me well enough by now that I meant baby seagulls, not some summer hotties in scantily clad bathing suits. Right?

My name is Luka – I live on the second floor 🎶

Anyways… She calls me on her lunch break:

S: Did you get my texts?
D: Yes I did dear.

S: Did the power go off there?
D: Well… The clocks aren’t reset so I’d say no.

D: Did you get the text that I sent you?
S: No. I didn’t get any text from you.

D: Hum. That’s odd. I’m fairly sure I hit the send button. I’ll have to check it out when I get off the phone with you.

Continuing our lunchtime conversation, I told to her what I had sent to her. I’m like, “You do know that I mean seagull chicks… Right?” She says, “Sure you do honey.” After a quick laugh together we ended our convo by wishing each other a good afternoon. After our Afternoon Delight Polite, I checked my messages to find out why she didn’t receive my text. It was a rather simple explanation as you may notice; via the screen capture above – I simply didn’t tap on the send button. Doh!

No matter. I got a strong alibi. The following images are all the proof anybody should require of what kind of chicks I was really taking pictures of 😉

Who is that guy over there and what is he doing?

A young’n learning the ropes.

Mom… mom… mom… mom… dad?
